Journaling – has it helped?

Recently at a coaching session when put on the spot and asked a question looking for a specific response on how journaling has helped me, my brain froze as I was struggling to find just one thing where journaling has helped me.

Picking one thing where journaling has helped me would come down to DISCIPLINE.

journaling

Journaling daily has taught me the discipline to dream big & start small. The discipline has taught me that things don’t just happen and they definitely don’t happen overnight.  Everything takes time.  Time exposes everything! (whole other topic) It takes time for you to believe it.  It takes time for the law of gestation to work its magic.

The discipline has taught me that I am nowhere near as good as I thought I was, and nowhere near my full potential.

The discipline has also taught me that I am worthy of more. I can accomplish more than I thought I had the potential to do. My own self-limiting beliefs are not so limiting & changing for the better daily.  Too many of us are caught up in our own self talk about how we may not be worthy.  We say stuff like:  That never happens for me.  I am not that lucky.  That would be nice someday.  Never fully committed to making the change happen.

Discipline of journaling has helped in my relationships, health, fitness, family, Friends & spiritual life.

Journaling can be very challenging, seem like a waste of time, what ever your head trash is around it.  When I started it was just to get through it because a coach told me to do it.  Turned out to be the best coaching ever.  Why is it that we know we should do something yet we are hesitant on doing it?

This discipline of journaling has me wanting to do more, be more, serve more, give more, share more & live more. Life is way too short to not want to get better.  Jump out of bed everyday looking forward to setting the stage by journaling about your day and the previous days results.

Journaling has put purpose into my life.

Is my journaling perfect? Not by a long shot.

Is it mine? Absolutely.

I own it!
