Day 11, The Road to Recovery, C7 Steroid Injection

Monday, July 16th, ended up being about the same as Sunday.  The pain and tingling in my hand was down to one finger and just on the very tip of it.  It would move from the index finder to the middle finger and back.  Most of time it would settle on my index finger which you tend to use a lot and can be uncomfortable at times.  It does not hurt to touch it which is nice, but the steady ache and burning sensation is bothersome for sure.

Sleeping has been better for sure.  I track my sleep and how much deep sleep I get and when the deep sleep exceeds the light sleep I know it is going to be a great day mentally!

I am really optimistic about how the process is moving along.  I believe I will heal and I will be doing the things that I was doing prior to the injury.  There is room for the nerves to do their thing and I need to do what I can to help them out.

Nutritionally I had another great day.  My morning veggie shake is a great way to start the day.  I try to drink one veggie shake a day.  I do veggies as I don’t want the sugar added from fruit.  People tend to put too much fruit in their shakes and that spikes the blood sugar and can adversely affect the purpose of the shake.  Mine are all veggie.  Very low glycemic index, very low carb.  I use a Vegan plant based protein powder as the foundation for flavor.

People always ask me what I put in the shakes, and I struggle to tell them as I don’t measure and I don’t measure how much I put in.  Here are my go to ingredients: Spinach, Broccoli, Kale, Soaked Chia Seeds, Protein Powder, Cinnamon, Tumeric, Ginger, Brussel Sprouts & 1/2 an Avocado.  The quality of the ingredients matters.  The Avocado makes the shake a little more creamy which is nice.  Add in some almonds at the end for chunks of food to chew or you can add Walnuts.

Another hiking photo, can’t wait to head to the mountains!  This is Granite Peak in MT. Highest point in MT.  It is one of my favorites so far.  Done it twice and we hope to do it again in August as long as I can carry a pack!

Got my list of 10 things to do daily completed and I am ready to conquer the day!
